Throughout a series of complex hospitality and public realm projects in the 1970’s, NDY became increasingly involved in providing a specialist lighting design service.
It was not until NDY was awarded a large commission for the Sheraton Mirage Hotel's lighting design in 1986 that the lighting design team was separately identified. A specialist division was created in 1988: NDYLIGHT.
This coincided with the extensive lighting design commission for the Brisbane Southbank Park project and design studios were subsequently established in Sydney, Melbourne, London and Brisbane.
NDYLIGHT’s objective was clear: to provide clients with the best possible lighting design service with support from other NDY operations.
By doing so, NDYLIGHT filled an important niche for NDY by offering creative lighting dimensions to architectural solutions.
NDYLIGHT design involvement starts at the very inception of the project and our ideas are always seamlessly integrated. We are involved in all masterplans, architecture, interior designs, and in shaping the performance and appearance of building projects.
Whereas a lighting designer was once considered a luxury for a project team, NDYLIGHT is now an essential specialist service for almost any type of project.
