NDY support for charitable causes extends to Central America

Founded by former NDY employee Corrina Grace, Project Seres is working in parts of Guatemala and El Salvador to engage, educate and empower people to become leaders of their own sustainable change.

Seres achieves this through innovative programs and workshops and also through Seres’ Demonstration Campuses. Seres creates the moments in time to start conversations to assist in achieving the project’s vision of a just and sustainable world.

The NDY Charitable Trust recently made a AUD$5000 donation to Project Seres at a function in the NDY Canberra office. On hand to receive the donation was Polly Grace, Executive Board member of Seres International and Policy Officer with the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency in Canberra.

Fellow Seres Board member and NDY Director Rowan Peck joined Canberra office manager Alan Edler in presenting the donation to Polly, saying “this donation to Seres’s Australian partner OzGreen will be matched dollar for dollar by North American group Miracles in Action effectively doubling the donation value: a wonderful outcome for Project Seres.”

Corrina Grace participated in the donation function via Skype from her base in Guatemala saying, “This donation, and NDY’s commitment to ongoing support, will greatly assist the Seres team in supporting education programs to empower local communities to deal with Climate change impacts.”
