NDY donations to support Queensland flood victims
The recent floods that devastated large parts of Queensland – equivalent in size to France, Switzerland and Italy – left a trail of destruction and heartache not witnessed in recent generations.
The sheer size and scale of the unfolding disaster galvanized individuals, communities and businesses across Australia to provide both on-the-ground and financial support.
The staff at Norman Disney & Young (NDY), both in Australia and overseas, were quick to respond to the unfolding crisis by coordinating office collections to be donated to three preferred charities.
The total contribution from staff and management exceeded $10,500 and these funds have been dispersed to the Salvation Army, The Rally for Relief and the Premier’s Flood Appeal.
According to NDY Chief Executive Officer Ian Hopkins, the donations are a deeper reflection of the core values permeating throughout the company.
“All NDY staff, including our social committees, are to be congratulated for the way in which they responded so quickly and generously to the Queensland floods. As an organisation we are cognisant of our responsibilities to be a good corporate citizen and it has been the initiative and responsiveness of our people that has facilitated this gratifying donation total,” Mr Hopkins said.
As the long and arduous road to recovery gets underway in earnest, donations are still welcome and can be made directly to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal by calling 1800 219 028 or online at: www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html
