As part of a major staged precinct development in Melbourne’s East, the Eastland Stage 5 retail development encompassed approximately 50,000 m² of additional lettable retail area to the existing GLA of around 80,000 m² shopping centre in Ringwood.

International and iconic brands including David Jones, Target, Uniqlo and H&M have joined Big W, Kmart, Coles and Woolworths along with more than 350+ speciality retailers. The project included a new town square precinct comprising restaurants and a public library.

Achieving the ultimate goal of integration into the existing shopping centre required careful planning of staging, given the existing centre was required to continue full retail trading.

The size of the redevelopment also provided the opportunity to introduce a new site wide services strategy, providing efficient plant operation and reduced C02 emissions.

NDY was appointed by QIC alongside The Buchan Group and Hames Sharley to complete fast track design for the development.
