With the advent of multi media technology, NDY has successfully applied these techniques to the production of Electronic on-line technical documentation.
The service is known as NDY.doc, an electronic documentation initiative.
We consider this technology ideally suited to the production of on-line Maintenance Manuals or “As-Built” documentation for any style or size of project or development.
The technology reader is based on using Adobe Acrobat software to provide a completely integrated online package.
Adobe Acrobat has been selected as it provides royalty free reader software available for Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and Unix platforms. It is suitable for inclusion on web sites and provides all of the cross referencing, indexing and searching capabilities required.
A total project solution typical includes:
- Project briefs, reports, cost plans, project minutes, programs
- Engineering specifications
- Design Drawings
- Working and/or Shop Drawings
- Manufactures documentation
- Testing and Commissioning Data
- As-built documentation
- Operations and Maintenance Manuals
- Other Facility Management documentation (if required)
Much of the technical documentation to be provided would be offered to a client in electronic form regardless, but usually ends up in disarray or is misplaced in short-order.
NDY.doc captures and creates value by holding all project files created from the original software package as a Postscript file or an Adobe PDF file.
Information which is provided in hard copy and forms that are an extract from a larger document can also be scanned and included as an integrated component of the on-line documentation.
