INTERNET FIBRE OPTIC REGENERATION CENTRE, LILLE

NDYnet have completed concept and detailed designs for the construction of internet fibre optic regeneration facilities in Lille, France.

The site can cater for three adjacent buildings of 5,000ft² and provide a scaleable technology / infrastructure solution for efficient and reliable fibre optic transmission.

Engineering architecture allows sharing of redundant plant capacity between each module, reducing capital costs while maintaining the "n+1" resilience policy.

HOLLAND
INTERNET PROTOCOL COLOCATION EXPANSION, AMSTERDAM

NDYnet have undertaken a design management role on behalf of an international technology client, to review detailed design documentation proposed as part of an expansion plan for an existing IP facility.

NDYnet have led design team reviews and have undertaken detailed assessments of Mechanical and Electrical design options for chiller plant, Uninterruptible Power Systems, Emergency Power Generation, Switchgear Selection, Protective and Technical Earthing.

GERMANY
INTERNET PROTOCOL GATEWAY & COLOCATION CENTRE, DÜSSELDORF

Two adjoining buildings have been redeveloped to accommodate the needs of a global Internet carrier in a 70,000 square feet Gateway and Colocation centre development.

Constructed over three distinct phases, the services for the complex development have been designed to allow a staged fitout catering for varying occupancy densities and future success based capital.

The process of integrating the engineering services within existing building structures set a number of key challenges for the design team, and involved close liaison with the building owner.

Electrical plant for this build are located at ground level, as incoming high voltage power supply, transformers, generators and electrical distribution for the facility has been incorporated within the first phase.

Services by NDYnet include: Building Automation, DC Power, Electrical Services, Emergency Power, High Voltage, UPS, Fire Protection, Mechanical Services, Public Health, and Security .

INTERNET PROTOCOL GATEWAY & COLOCATION CENTRE, MUNICH

A 60,000 feet square IP Centre provides Internet host and collocation services to IT industries seeking data centre grade rental space to house computer servers and networking equipment.

The centre was developed by an US International IP Carrier to service network needs and the growing demand for IP rental space in Munich.

NDYnet were engaged as the specialist engineering services consultants for the development.

Engineering systems designed by NDYnet cater for staged load growth and incorporate provision for the uninterrupted installation of future major plant to service increases in load demand. Modular provisions include: cast-resin transformers, main electrical switchboards, emergency power generation, UPS systems, general distribution, DC power plant, chillers and environmental cooling units.

Centre capacities can cater for an ultimate demand of 6,000 kVA - offering users up to 75 watts/ft2 in technical areas.

Extensive plant commissioning and tests were overseen by NDYnet, to ensure the client received an integrated and proven services installation.

Services by NDYnet include: Building Automation, DC Power, Electrical Services, Emergency Power, UPS, High Voltage, Fire Protection, Mechanical Services, Public Health and Security.

INTERNET PROTOCOL GATEWAY, BERLIN

A 76,000 square feet Internet Gateway with a base load power consumption of 7MVA of which 100% can be generated locally when required. The project involved the integration of an existing structure with external shear walls requiring 2000mm deep cast concrete cable walkways to be constructed between the main building and external generator plants.

Mechanical plant is installed in external plant compounds to make use of seasonal free cooling. Chilled water mains are buried in trenches running alongside the building before rising to serve technical areas in ring formations.

Services by NDYnet include: Building Automation, DC Power, Electrical Services, Emergency Power, UPS, High Voltage, Fire Protection, Mechanical Services, Public Health and Security.

INTERNET PROTOCOL GATEWAY & COLOCATION CENTRE, HAMBURG

Developed on a "brown field" site, this 82,000 square feet Internet Gateway and Colocation centre provided an opportunity to design a facility that clearly demonstrated a 'best practice space efficiency' policy.

The final design has provided the client with optimum use of both land and building resources. Simplicity and order in design has promoted ease of construction and the ongoing maintainability of key systems.

The building consists of an efficient, low aspect ratio "warehouse" area. Plant forming the EPG, UPS and DC systems, as well as the backbone of the low voltage distribution, is contained on the ground floor alongside collocation space. The upper level of the warehouse contains a further 40,000 square feet of clear technical space. Heat rejection plant is housed in a rooftop compound, further reducing property costs. A two level glass fronted annexe to the building contains administration, local operation control centre and other support functions.

Services by NDYnet include: Building Automation, DC Power, Electrical Services, Emergency Power, UPS, High Voltage, Fire Protection, Mechanical Services, Public Health and Security.
